Being a Limousine driver is driving privileged customers who come to Geneva either for business or to discover the Lake Geneva and its riches. A Limousine driver is the first and often the last contact of the passenger with his destination. That's why the limousine driver must adhere to a number of rules and laws but must also have some expertise to create a unique and memorable customer experience.
The federal professional driver's license is required. This permit is obtained after a theoretical examination on the Federal Ordinance on Road Transport, (the OTR2 which regulates the hours of work, driving and compulsory rest) and a practical driving test and on the use of the tachograph (sort of "black box" that equips buses and trucks all over Europe, and in Switzerland also taxis and limousines). In Geneva, there is also a further examination of the cantonal law (LTaxi H 1-30) and its implementing regulations (RTaxi H 1 30.01).
